Dr. Henk Slim

Henk was a PDRA in the group employed (Nov. 2003- Oct. 2004) on a EPSRC sponspored project to develop new parallel code for massively parallel simulations. Henk’s code, gbmol_dd v2.0, (adapated from our previous domain decomposition code gbmol_dd v1.0), includes domain decomposition and parallel tempering methods. Thereby allowing two levels of parallelisation. Typically, one might wish to use 64 processors or more for parallel tempering for a relatively small simulation system (for which parallel tempering is most effective). If the small system has short range interactions then typically domain decomposition allows for a 4x4x4 system (64 processors). This thereby allows 64×64=4096 processors to be employed on a relatively small system.

Details of Henk’s research can be obtained by viewing the the following link..
